AIMM Therapeutics
AIMM Therapeutics is a spin-off company from AMC, founded in 2004 to develop antibodies and innovative vaccines against various infectious diseases, based on immortalized B-cell-memory cells of patients. The goal is to utilize proprietary B cell immortalization technologies for the selective isolation of human B cells that produce antibodies with desirable specificities.

Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics
Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics (AMT) is focused on the development of gene based medicine targeting metabolic, ocular and neurological diseases. The lead product is an AAV-based gene therapy for treatment of lipoprotein lipase deficiency. AMT possesses expertise and facilities covering viral vectors, process scale-up and GMP manufacturing of clinical batches.

Arthrogen
Arthrogen BV was founded in 2005 as a joint venture between the Dubai Bone & Joint Center and the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. Arthrogen develops innovative gene therapy for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The main focus is on disease-regulated local expression of therapeutic genes using AAV as a vector.

Hep-Art
Hep-Art’s lead product is the bio-artificial liver (BAL), protected by a world-wide patent and proven to be safe in a first clinical trial. In addition, Hep-art is developing human liver cell lines. Research and development is performed at the AMC by Dr. Chamuleau and his team.

Macrozyme
Macrozyme focuses on the development of new proprietary compounds discovered by Professor Aerts and his group at the AMC for the treatment of diabetes, inflammatory disorders and lysosomal storage diseases. Macrozyme’s research activities concentrate on the role of glycolipid metabolism in various diseases.

Microvision Medical
MicroVision Medical is dedicated to providing platform technologies for investigation of the (micro)circulation. This platform technology is directed at both basic and clinical research, making it possible to observe the microcirculation in tissues with easy and accuracy. The MicroScan handheld video microscopes are designed for visualization of the functional microcirculation (i.e. blood flow and density of the micro capillaries) and relevant blood and tissue markers.

The Biomed cluster
The Amsterdam region has a high concentration of life sciences: two academic medical centers, over 8 specialized research institutes, and more than 60 health care companies, joined together in the Amsterdam Biomed Cluster. AMC and the Medical Business Park AMC are also part of the Amsterdam Biomed Cluster.
